My Christmas Train 07

Well had to put it up again this year!

Nice looking set. I miss my old Lionel Set from the early twenties.

I don't have any but I had af ew as kid. That and tyco race tracks always were my favorite. My brother gives his kids train stuff each year. I think it was a Ringling Bros. complete set he bought the oldest which had something like 12+ cars. Santa brings one each year, almost to the caboose now. He did the same thoing with other two, his girl has a pink locomotive.

Very nice looking set Chris, you don't see so many coal trains under the Christmas Tree!

thanks, i built the loco in our machine shop out of aluminum around an lgb stock replacement motor. the cars are balsa and aluminum. yea, every year some of the coal just happens to slip into the stockings for the family

I still have my Lionel .027 trains, they usually show up under the tree, I many load some coal into the one car. That is if you don't mind if I borrow your idea.

Funny story, my uncle collects mining artifacts. I got him this 300lb.+ chunk of coal for Christmas the one year to put in his basement by his collection. It's Christmas day and the whole family is at his house, we're all admiring this piece of coal drinking a few beers and his granddaughter who was about 5 at the time comes down the steps. Her eyes got as big as saucers and she asks who got that, Grampa says its his and she goes "Wow pop, you must have been reeeeeeally bad to get that." It's one of those situations where you had to be there because you had to see how serious she was about it.
