I have some questions?
How many gallons of water does it hold? It has a water jacket not coil?
What size anthracite coal? How much coal can it hold?
How do you shake the grates?
Thxs.
It holds about 40 gallons IIRC. It has a coil if it is set up to heat domestic hot water, it was an option. All boilers have a water jacket, that's what makes them boilers.
Nut coal, should hold about 80# total. Be sure to fill it right to the top
every time you reload it.
There should be a square shaft at the top when you open the ash door to shake the grates, if it doesn't have one and the grates are fixed you have a wood burner. Burnham may be able to supply the parts you need to burn coal but I would call them first before you buy it.
Ask them to send you a manual while your at it. If you can't get one from them, PM me, I'll send a copy of the one I have.
