Can a Preway Stove Burn Anthracite Coal?

i picked up a preway stove that a lady was giving away, she said that she burnd wood in it and was told when she bought it it could burn coal too. it has 3 legs and looks like it could be used for an fireplace insert.. kimda looks like a vermont stove.. it has a grate but theres no fire brick.. im going to install in the garage,, do you think I can burn coal? any info

Some pics of the firebox would be usefull. Without firebrick and a shaker grate it is unlikely.

i give it to a guy up the road,, I don't think it could burn coal.. thanks any way..
