The other and probably bigger issue I was talking about with the supply and demand comment was the COAL! That's what I'm afraid of bumping up price wise.

Think of it this way. If there is demand a supply will be produced to meet the demand. A basic economic law. Also, as prices increase, supply will increase and therefore equalize prices as the demand is fulfilled. Therefore, we will have a plentiful and secure supply of coal.

I would like to think that would be the case William especially since coal has been very stable for the past 10 or so years. That said, It like any other commodity in demand will be susceptible to the same price fixing, gouging, and greed that other commodities are when in high demand. That's my cynical take on it and maybe I'm the greedy one by having this attitude?

On a personal note, spreading the word about old stoves and putting them back to use has rendered an important dividend for me. If I hadn't have, then I wouldn't have ever met as many nice people and made friends like you in the process.

Amen to that William. I've learned a ton and met some great people along the way. I definitely believe in paying that forward.

Don't forget right now we have a "Coal Hater" in the White House. Hopefully just until January 2013. The last 4 years have not been the best of times for the coal industry.

William,
A buddy that worked for me for many years in the US Army has an appointment on Monday with Doug at Barnstable Stoves. He is going to look at 2 different Glenwoods that Doug has. The Base Heater club keeps growing and growing. How sweet it is! :D

Excellent Chad and tell your friend not to discount the Glenwood Modern Oak or Glenwood Oak series with divided back pipe either. The MO 118 or the Glenwood Oak 40 is the equivalent of your #8 in those series stoves and the 116 and or #30 is the size of a #6. They are less expensive yet are excellent heaters.

I can't tell you how pleased I am with my MO116. It's been on for 3 weeks yesterday and most of that was just idling along. Last night was low 30s and I kicked it up to 325-350. It's 73 down here this morning. I have only been using a single (at most) hod of coal a day also. This stove requires no babysitting and is truely a one match per season kind of stove.

Hi Steve,
My friend Al is coming over tonight to see our Glenwood No. 8 in action. I will let him know about all the options available to him. I am actually going to try to take a ride down to Barnstable stove with him on Monday. Doug is a great guy and he really took care of me when he found out I was a disabled Iraqi War veteran. I just got word that I officially retire from Active Duty in the US Army on December 24th 2012. Merry Christmas to me. It has been a long 21 years in the Army.

I will attach a photo of my wife and I at a Halloween party we had at our VFW Post. We dressed like we were at a party in 1909.

I will let Doug know you said hello. Doug e-mailed me last night and said he has a new Barnstable Stove T-Shirt for me. What size are you? I will try to get you one also. I will have my friend sign up to NEPA forum this week.
