Three Springs PA

PostBy: Helen On: Mon Oct 01, 2012 11:29 am

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the board and I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm looking for lump coal delivery near the Three Springs PA area for our coal furnace. This is a little town near Orbisonia and Mount Union PA. I have been quoted a price of the lump coal was $240 a ton delivered. This seems kind of high, but since I'm new to the coal for heating my home, just purchased home not to long ago, I'm not sure. Anyone around the area who would know? Thanks so much.

Helen,
What type of lump coal Bit/soft or Anthracite/hard? There is a lot of soft coal in your area on some farms and in the Six mile region. With the price of fuel I would say the $240.00 per ton for hard is about right since the average is $220.00 for pickup. If you are talking soft the price is very high.
