Flue and pump clearance

Flue and pump clearance

PostBy: 331camaro On: Tue Oct 02, 2012 2:18 pm

Sooo system is complete up and running and i guess it was foolish of myself to put the pump so close to the flue but i was under the impression that flue temps would be cooler than they are. so my question is should i re pipe where pump is near the flue or just make a double wall insulated section?

Should be OK but if your concerned cut a section of stove pipe lengthwise and slip it over it.

It sound be fine the way it is. The flue pipe shouldn't get much over 200F degrees on the surface, and the pump is rated for 240F degree water.

It dosent feel warmer than any of the other pumps when up and running for a while and the only time that flue got real hot was on initial start up i dunno if the fire was larger than normal but it got pretty hot and thats what made me nervous about the pump

Wrap the section of pipe near it with insulation if you're worried about it.
