PA Voter ID Postponed Until After Election

Simpson's ruling will allow the law to go into full effect next year, though he could still decide later to issue a permanent injunction as part of the ongoing legal challenge to the law's constitutionality.

Election workers will still be allowed to ask voters for a valid photo ID, but people without it can use a regular voting machine in the polling place and would not have to cast a provisional ballot or prove their identity to election officials afterward.

I was just thinking of posting that news myself. Liberal judges, the ACLU, the NAACP; I give up. This is so obviously the democrat way to get votes. I'm sorry for "the disenfranchised". The billions and billions of dollars pumped into "the war on poverty" has not eliminated or even reduced poverty. Because they keep giving fish instead of teaching how to fish. All the competant and able bodied people are the ones being disenfranchised now.
What the heck, no need to show any ID to vote anymore; let's allow the entire population of India and China to vote in our elections while we're at it. That wouldn't satisfy the libs. Let children over the age of 2 vote. Let the dog, the cat, hell, let your PC vote, it's got more processing power than most citizens.

I don't think you can blame the Judge, this is the same Judge that has ruled this law legal. It's getting drug out but ultimately this law is gong to remain law. This injunction was not issued because of the legality of the law but because of the time table which I don't agree with at all.

It may work out good for my wife, she has to get a new photo for her drivers license & has been there twice the first time the machine was broken & the second the line was too long. Going to stop tomorrow after her doctors appointment & try again, she was dreading the law since she works the polling place. With only one place to get a photo ID & no extra staff the people aren't the most pleasant in the world & there is no bus service anywhere near there.

But the democrats will find a way to bus in the population at election day, right.

Yep, getting a photo I.D. here in America is an impossible task alright. That's why it's unfair to have any laws or order whatsoever.

NJDMV used to be just as bad. I think they privatized it, but they really got their act together years ago. Just re-registered the Ranger $75. No line, took literally one minute.

However, when I went to renew my driver's license, had to go back with more I.D.
Imagine this scenario: If I somehow got pulled over in the DMV parking lot as I went in to renew my driver's license; say my brake light bulb went out at that exact moment; and the cop asked for my license; it would have been VALID I.D.
Then, upon going in to renew it; it is not valid I.D.!

I had to go get my passport, birth certificate, high school diploma, and that was just barely enough for them.

But it's an outrage to require photo I.D. to vote.

You have to wonder why these places are in the middle of no where. I know the license center near me is in an industrial park. I was at the one in Harrisburg and I may be wrong but that appeared to be in the middle of no where too. When I was younger the license center was right in the middle of Wilkes Barre. Maybe consolidation and they are testing new drivers and don't want them going into traffic?

Voter ID would prevent those fraudulent registrations from becoming votes, yes?

Having said that the RNC took immediate and appropriate action instead of trying to protect them, yes?

Here in MD we just had a congressional candidate have to withdraw from the race because she was found to have voted twice in the last two elections. Once in md and once in florida. Yes, shes a dem.
It's very important that dead dems are not disinfranchised also. A recent sample of md votes audited by a watchdog group found a sizeable "zombie" vote. This seems to be primarily occuring at nursing homes. Old folks die, someone is filling out their absentee ballots and submitting them.

Just got back from the third time at the photo center & my wife finally got her new license. While there a man & his 18 year old daughter came in for photo ID, he was told he needs a photo ID card from the other side (license center), he was there yesterday when they were there but the photo side wasn't & since she can't drive (legally blind) to just get the state photo ID. Talk about a run around & to boot they told him there would be a fee when there isn't supposed to be, he had her B.C. & SSC & some other paperwork, in any event it means at least one more trip for him & his daughter.

Pew estimates there is 24 million invalid or substantially inaccurate fraudulent registrations nationwide. Those aren't all fraudulent and most likely mot of them aren't.

To vote? Yes that was part of the ruling, since the law has not been repealed they will be allowed to go forward with the PR campaign.We certainly want to make sure the next election we don't have any lawyer arguing people weren't given enough time. They will ask for ID at the pools on election day but it won't be required.

This should be one stop trip and if my understanding is correct a SSN is really all you need to get the voter only ID.

IMO they should be able to issue the card right at the photo center with proper ID, these people were at the license door (two feet from photo door, same building) if she doesn't need a drivers license what difference does it make? Knowing Pa. they will probably give her a drivers test & when she flunks issue her a non-drivers ID & charge her for it. If anything both sides should have the same days & hours of operation.
