they are both doing what they do best, telling their audiance what they want to hear. who knows what either will end up doing in office. i dont like either one but romney seems like the stronger canidate.

When Chris "I get a tingle" Matthews concedes that Obama blew it and Romney "was winning" you know that it was a bad debate for Obummer. There isn't much there for the "O" crows to defend. Not that there was much to begin with anyway. The guy is an empty suit who must have a teleprompter to display anything that might appear original in appearance. Perhaps this debate will wake a few people up to just how hollow this guy really is. We can hope!

For the record, I definitely learn from the past, yet I tend not to live in it with all it's negative connotations. It accomplishes nothing. I could never understand why some people seem to thrive on it, it appears to be a very lonely place.

I agree with you Jpete but the only politician I know of that fits that description is the one in your avatar and he's not running anymore. You have to go to war with the army that you have now. This country cannot sustain another 4 years like we just had. We will be in a real 1929 like depression. I'm not wild about Mitt. Frankly I don't trust any man that does not drink alcohol. But he's the only choice we have unless we want to be Greece or worse.

Maybe make an exception to your coal brothers that are on the wagon. Only 1 in 11 alcys beat the disease. For me one's too many and a million's not enough. And you never beat it actually, just get a daily reprieve. 32 years with two slips, each time I set out to get drunk with a vengeance, like I always did.

Romney clearly owned and humiliated Obama during the debate, but both of them were merely grabbing for the same fascist/socialist branches that are well beyond any semblance of Constitutionality. The only thing that happened last night twas that one of the fascist/socialists sold his message and vision far better than the other did. The net effect is that however this turns out big government prevails and the Constitution loses. The American people will also be losers as a result.

The branches they both grabbed for (among others) are:

Government mandated health care
Government mandated Social Security
Government mandated Medicare

Both are big government proponents in a big way, and control freaks to boot. Romney merely showed how easy it is to be an outsider with no strings attached to the present economic disaster we are experiencing, vs. how hard it is for an incumbent in bad times to defend his nations abysmal record. However, if things were turned around and Romney had been the President for the past 4 years, and Obama was the challenger, it would have been just as easy for Obama to make a humiliating mockery of Romney's record of massive deficits, bail-outs, support for the too big to fails, etc...

Strangely enough I have to agree that Romney had the better debate (if that's what one would call it) right off the bat when Romney said that's not my plan it totally threw Obama off. Lehrer totally lost any control of anything & Romney was then in charge, I didn't watch much of it but what I did see was enough to make Obama the loser in round one. The bad thing I see out of this is that no one can tell me or anyone else how Romney's plan will work or what's in it but yet you all embrace it & believe it clearly makes him the better man for office. He did point out the end of inheritance tax, I was worried about slipping in under the cut off for that one . Other than that what did the man say? What loopholes will he get Congress to plug? Personally I would hold on to everything I have if he gets in & does the same things that threw us into a recession, won't be any stopping it next time around.
