Good morning EFM burners,
Got my new EFM 520 hooked up and fired up yesterday. This one that I bought from Ann Marie and Steve came with a Wil-burt timer instead of the honeywell like my parents 520 highboy came with. I have looked and looked but I can not find an instruction sheet anywhere with this thing. How do the set the times for it to come on?

Thanks again,
Glenn

Glenn, if you look closely you should see a wheel with some markings on it, and a gap (this is what activates the microswitch) that is adjustable by loosening a setscrew that holds the two pieces of the "wheel' together. If there are two "gaps" visible the timer is to run twice per hour, if there is only one "gap" it will run once per hour.

2 minutes every half hour is a good place to start. If you are running 5 teeth of feed 1.5 minutes every half hour works good as well.

Rob,
Thank you Sir. I will take a look as soon as I get home. I am also going to look for a Honeywell. I really like Mom and Dads and am not big on this Wil-burt timer's design.

Thanks,
Glenn

The Wil-burt timer is fine, you just have to get the hang of adjusting it. I wouldn't be surprised if the previous owner saved you the trouble. How does the boiler run?

The Wilburt is well built and all the parts are replaceable. It probably sells for $400 at a dealer.

It does seem like a well built unit. Just used too and like the easy to use Honeywell. My wel-bert has two notches on the dial by the way.

Thanks,
Glenn

I assume your Honeywell is in good working condition? Do you have a picture of the timer?

Thanks,
Glenn

Good morning Guys. After work this morning I went up and checked out the timer that Mom and Dad's 520 high boy came with. I thought it was a Honeywell but of course I was wrong. I have attached pictures. What do you guys know about this timer? I still like it much better then my current timer. Any idea what my timer is worth? It looks brand new but of course I do not know if that is so. I would like to sell it and buy one of the timers that Mom and Dad have and use any remaining money for a radiator for my living room.

Thanks,
Glenn

That is an Intermatic model C8835, it is a 30 minute timer. Brand new it is around $100.

We handled both Intermatic and Wilburt at efm and the Wilbert was far better quality.

Oh I would have to agree that the Will-Burt appears to be built like a tank. That said I am 30 going on 90 (according to my family) and am set on the "cheaper" timer. Does anyone know of anybody looking for a Will-Burt that might want to trade for a cast iron radiator and a timer?

Thanks,
Glenn

I upgraded to the Intermatic to make the time selection easier. Been working great for a few years now.
