Just wanted to say hello and thank you for all the great info I have found in this forum. I just purchased a Pioneer LE from M/M coal in Fulton, NY. It is replacing my 10yr old Whitfield Profile 30 free standing wood pellet stove. After talking with Mike at M/M and seeing the Leisure Line stoves and then reading the comments here I stopped my search for a new wood pellet stove and switched to coal.
I did have a question, about how long would a 50 bag of coal last in the Pioneer if it was just running on low just to keep the fire going?
Thanks,
Chuck

Depending on how low you have the min set. Between 7-11lbs/day coal to maintain a fire. Also depends on coal quality.cperkins wrote:Just wanted to say hello and thank you for all the great info I have found in this forum. I just purchased a Pioneer LE from M/M coal in Fulton, NY. Yes I agree with that range. I have Poconos and an AnthraKing 110 stoker with a slightly bigger burner. Right now I am on min=2 (Coaltrol) and the number has been about 7# a day for a week or so but that will vary with the coal as I use Jeddo. I think that is about to change as the cold weather sneeks up on us.
