Hey fellow coal burners, ordered up my coal and the price has jumped a bit from last year,$335.00 a skid (2400 LBS) -$282.00 a ton. Was wondering what everyone else was paying. Also , who sells bulk coal in the Erieville area 50 mile radius. thanks in advance for any info. :rambo2:

Chester, glad to help. They seem like decent people, bought our LL stove from them last year and got our coal there as well. Little
expensive for them to come down to Ithaca, but fuel for the trucks is not cheap. We went with a local guy in Dryden this year, like to deal local when I can and Freetown Fred gave him a

Here on Long Island they are getting $325 loose / $375 bagged. Same as last season. Unfortunately a bit expensive, but cheaper than oil.

Baddawg, Where are you getting coal in Dryden? Is there another place other than Poso? I'm in Groton City and go to Stoyells. Great people to deal with. I've got my winter supply of Blaschak bagged rice.

Dealing with Poso. I had a great transaction with him. Buddy of mine got his there also. To be honest, I'd had never heard good things about Poso. Rude, bad service, high prices. I am very glad I went ahead and gave him a shot. Very nice, great service, good price. I will go back.

Cornwall Coal has it at:
$6.50/ 40# bag
approx. $365/ 2400# pallet of bags
Approx. $240/ton loose delivered 2 ton min. or $40 delivery charge on 1 ton
approx. $230/ ton loose you-pick-up

I say approximately because I didn't write down the exact prices and I know its in that neighborhood

I'm new to coal heating and have only picked up to bags (80#s) of pea coal to get started with
