Hi everyone.
I have a question about my new 1600G.
Does anyone know how many pounds of nut coal this stove will hold including mounding it in the middle.
yeah I know I said new, the stove sat in a local hardware for 5 years until I purchased it for $1,200.00 .. I think I got a great deal, hope so.
The hardware couldn't sale the stove so I offered them $1,200.00 if they delivered it to me.
Been burning wood, dealing with an over draft :( 36 feet of double wall and 8 feet of flue. Gotta install a barometric damper.
4 hour burns are the best I get. Manual damp 7/8 closed, ash closed all the way, and electric fan draft closed all but a sliver. High winds are not helping.
Any and all advice I will be truly thankful.
Feel free to pm me.

I want to try a few burns on nut. Don't want to buy tons until I find out how it will do in my stove. And I have done a search. Nothing came up. So I'm asking the question in my original question. How many pounds of nut coal will my 1600G hold when mounded.

Buckwheat will not like shaker grates. :no2:

Try nut or stove size.

As for how much capacity for your Clayton...you could do the math...http://nepacrossroads.com/kb/anthracite ... _by_Weight

Heres a few threads to read over. The Clayton and Hot Blast stove are a US Stove product. The stoves are good wood stves, but are somewhat finiky when using coal, but most of their issues are discussed and solved in these threads.

No pics yet, still hooking up things, because of how I had to position it. Its taking longer to get things done. And I'm dealing with a very limited budget. I was injured and I'm waiting on my Social Security disability. So we have only $330 per week income at this time.

I put in a new 36 foot chimney double wall, and the stove! This is all I can afford at this time.
Just using it as radiant heat at this time. Its working good on wood.
