That is incredible 833mph with no aircraft. Thinking about it if I were going to skydive now it would be fun to start there. What the heck if you are going to go go big. I love flying, I have been at 9000' in an ultralight flown hang giders done aerobatics in a Extra 300. But I have never had the kahonies to skydive. But it has always intrigued me, especially the wing suits. Passing through the unknown the way he did takes some huge ones. Congratulations to him and his crew. There planning payed off.

Not sure about the balloon but they cut the capsule loose after he jumped and it had it's own parachute.

Incredible how people blow past no go frontiers. So now a business starts as if you can recycle the capsule the cost becomes attainable. Who cares about your average skydiver when you can say you did this. I expect people are developing plans right now. The average Joe can never afford to go to space but can do this. I watch with interest although I'm with David - way too frightening for my blood and I have done some really stupid flying things. The nextgen capsule will house 10 divers and you rent the suits. You think it stops here? No way, just the start, the mans a real pioneer. Also coming your way is how can he go higher? Hmmm, if I stick a tiny rocket engine on this thing now I achieve a new record for altitude for this type of flight, longest time free fall, most number of backflips (whatever) Guinness book of records here I come ....... Just stunning.
