I have a 1600 m and am trying anthracite stove coal this year . I have been burning wood the last 5 years, but its seems to use too much wood. IT either overheats my home,or cloggs my chimney . my house is a 1600 sq ft farmhouse . I believe the unit is oversized a bit, especially as I begain to insulate my home. my thought was to burn coal and just damper it back as needed. anyone have a 1600? ANY THOUGHTS?

what part of the country do you live in? the local weather tends to impact coal usage as well as the individual house.

Why if you haven't burned coal yet are you starting out with stove coal and not nut, nut will be more forgiving and you can burn a lower fire with nut. :?
