Sam, Sam. the reason for businesses going south and away and over yonder is cost's. Period. Your as much to blame as us all. Want new jeans? Well the unions in the US demand high wages, the environuts hate the dye, the farming methods to get the cotton, etc. Go on down to Walmart and get some cheap ones. From Sri Lanka. OH yeah, they are a Muslim country and hate us, lets enrich them. You see, every action has an equal and opposite reaction. We have done this to ourselves because too many times we said damn the cost, this has to be done. So now you see the costs and you want to go back and blame it on the businesses for doing what was expected of them. Provide products at competitive prices, damn the costs to communities and America. Same for the teachers and their unions right now. Damn the cost's.
I know you blame the steel industry for your woes. Just what would you have done to reduce the costs of making steel here???? Take all profit from the owners and run the plant for the people? You know what that is and its the only answer. And we know how it works historically also.

Where do you see the costs dropping, those things you mention are indeed made cheaper but the price isn't reflected, just the profit. Blame the blacks, Muslims, gays, tree huggers, gays, teachers & unions, anybody but yourself or big business. When the country was really growing & the average worker was treated like an expendable tool it was the owners that invested, took chances & ran their business. Now you want to go right back to that except the owners no longer invest, take chances or even run their business, now there are CEOs & a dozen or better important sounding executives that create nothing, don't even know in most cases what product they make or where, all they do is crunch #s & pat one another on the backs & kiss butt on up the line, just for a huge paycheck & an even bigger bonus (tax free naturally).
Never said I blame the steel industry for anything, I worked for everything I got & the union never did much of anything but take dues, we weren't even allowed to strike for most of my working years. It was just kind of hard for them to make that much profit without throwing the dogs a bone once in awhile. Used to have several thousand working, when I retired we were putting out more steel than ever (average heat was 250 tons every nineteen minutes) with somewhere between 850 to 930 employees, it's progress that's taking the jobs & you ain't gonna stop progress.

ALL of the groups you mentioned are part of the problem because they want special treatment or rights to make them "equal" to the supposed oppressors. You didn't read or comprehend well, lets try again. FOR EVERY ACTION THERE IS AN EQUAL AND OPPOSITE REACTION How many times do people tell you it isn't a R or D issue.
