still waiting for the daytime high not to get over 50. With the daytime highs near 60 still, I don't use the furnace at all, and put about 4 logs per evening in the wood stove upstairs.
I would probably be leaving the windows open 24/7 if I lit up the Harman.

My stove is in a finished basement. I have a porch off the back of the walkout basement. I can leave those windows open and open a few upstairs windows if I need to. I just can't take the raw and dampness any more.
What a difference a little heat makes in the house. I'm Happy. :D

I've burned 440 lbs since October 8th and that includes the 60 lbs or more it takes to fill it up for the first fire. I figure it cost me about $66 to be nice and comfortable till I reload tomorrow.

It was worth every penny. :D

Fire that baby up and be happy. ;)

Wow. Thats alot. Ive been using my tiny....tiny.. wood stove upstairs to take the chill out. BUUUUTTT... I have been waking up to a blistering cold 60*-62* or so and next week is looking like the nightly dips will get into the 30's. If theres one thing I hate(and there isnt'), its being cold  .
Coal stove is downstairs hooked to a different stack.

I figure its costing me $2.80 a day to stay nice and cozy. A nice chocolate bar a day would cost you that. And I don't eat chocolate.
The older you get the more you enjoy the heat. Especially when you can eliminate the raw and dampness in the house.
Its all good right now. ;)

I think you'll be nice and warm for the rest of the season.
I'll probably shake and fill once every day now unless it turns real cold. Then I will switch to twice a day. Up until now I have been trying to go every day and a half.

I never shut down from last year. I've been burning all summer for hot water. I've been slowly turning it up with this cold weather we have now.
