Started and went about a week, but shut down when it was almost 70 out. I'll give it another week or so and see.

I fired up last week ... but not burning coal. Had to get rid of 11 sheets of OSB ... Heated my house & hot water in the process. 8-)

Once all that is gone I'll toss coal on top & let her fly for the season IF it's cold enough. If not I'm sure I can scrounge up some more trash to burn ... :D

I fired up last week. These old bones and arthritis just can't take that raw and damp feeling anymore. I didn't know how much I missed that little bit of heat until I fired up.
Now I'm just on Idle at 110º stack temperature. I should be good from now till April. :D

I fired up around 10 days ago, off and on, but not burning coal now. Just tossing some small pieces in the SoapStone to take the chill out of the house when needed now. Judging from the forecast I probably won't start with the coal 100% till around Nov 1st now. Then again things could change.

Smitty... Love all that coal you have stacked up in the kitchen. You are a man after my own heart! :P

I lit last night :) I had planned to do it on the 28th but instead of lighting the pellet stove, felt the urge to start burning the black diamonds. I think I have a new addiction, I felt like a kid at Christmas lol. So unless something unforeseen comes up, its staying lit! Got it burning low and slow for the moderate weather. We have about 125 degrees on the pipe, 200 over the load door and drafting a .025 WC. This is the first burn with the block chimney and its doing a fine job :)

Ashley (my furnace's name) said she had a nice rest over the summer and was happy to be making heat again!
