Hotblast furnace to hot cooking me out of the house

I checked my seals and there tight it was alittle better last night with the dampner on the feed door closed I was playing around with wood before I got my coal and I thought I had closed but I'm a moron. It's suppose to be to warm to run it this weekend so ill try blocking off the back half of the fire box. I'm looking forward to those cold nights we will have once winter starts. I can't wait to see how well this stove is gonna heat my house when it's dipping down to -20 f.

Yep no doubt that at -20 below you'll be thrilled that it has plenty of HP.

So just alittle update I started closing my manual dampner on the stove pipe and closed the vents down all the way it burned beautiful all night and still had a nice bed of coals burning this morning and the house stayed about 75 but it was only in the mid 30s outside lastnight. I pulled all the coals to the front and added another 5 gal bucket to the back. We shall see how she looks when I get home. When I opened the stove door this morning it was just a beautiful sight I wish I had taking a picture
