I live 3 hrs away from where the boiler is and trying to prep without seeing it. What size is that top bung I'll fab up a tee like what Wood N Coal has pictured. I just need the pipe sizes.

It's 3". With a bushing, and 3 nipples and a tee in 1 1/2" pipe you don't need to weld anything.

The tapping is 3", but more than likely it has already been bushed down to a smaller size. I would bring a selection of reducer bushings so you are prepared.
