Newbie to coal neeed advice on stoves and stove furnace

Hello all, I been interested into looking at coal alternative to my oil. First thing is I been looking coal stoves as well as coal furnace. presently I heat my house with oil for 3000+/- sqaure foot home with first floor being radiant heat and second floor baseboard heat. I have an indirect water heater as well. I been interested in a furnace that I could run the radiant heat and hot water. I read some post online and one individual noted that he built a shed and installed the furnace inside and ran the piping underground to his home. Wondering if anyone heard of this. Anyways I would like feedback on stoves and furnaces and whom could talk too. I am in central Massachuseets and would appreciate any help. Thanks All.

I sounds like what you are looking for is a coal fired hot water boiler. There are many good choices. How many gallons of heating oil do you go through in a typical year, and what is the BTU output rating of your oil boiler?
