Think again, Dan. Check out this piece from that notorious left-wing rag, Forbes Magazine.

Really?

Because the military is pretty big now and we are up to our armpits in sand.

How about we mind our own business? That would keep us out of the M.E. and wouldn't cost a dime.

I'm sure Romney will fix it after he is done reviewing all the programs that he thinks are worth borrowing from China to fund.

I wonder if they'll keep loaning us money after Mitt fulfills his campaign promise and labels them currency manipulators?

Jeff,
I for one am tired of being the world's police. In nearly every conflict that we are involved in (generally one's we have a vested interest in) with our ally's, we always bear the lion's share of the costs. Romney's tough talk slid way left in the last debate too. I suppose he was trying to step away from the Hawkish talk of the last few months, but honestly he's right about dead center moderate right now, which again makes me wonder which Romney would show up?

Romney flim-flam contradicted by Fox No News:

Mitt Romney, Mar. 2, 2012 open letter:
"… I would not have dragged my feet on exploration and development of major [oil] prospects onshore and offshore as this Administration has.”

Fox New, October 24, 2012:
“(AP) - U.S. oil output is surging so fast that the United States could soon overtake Saudi Arabia as the world's biggest producer … on track to rise 7 percent this year … the fourth straight year of crude increases and the biggest single-year gain since 1951.”

What a crock. Weak, http://blogs.forbes.com/people/rickungar/#

jpete wrote:You negate your own argument.

Romney already said he wants to increase military spending and he's sabre rattling toward Iran.

No, you negate everything.
I support a strong military. Also support more saber rattling; f*** those muzzys. Nuke 'em. Neutron bomb 'em. google "General Blackjack Pershing executed muslims"

Liberals sit all warm under the blanket of our military and do nothing but criticize it. Liberals want an equal tree humping eco- world full of kind considerate organic spelt eating hippies dancing around in the moonlight. But they make their socialist demands from the USA. They all have ancestors and relatives that have or had the courage to defend freedom. Those ancestors must be so proud of them.

Obama and Hillary are traitors to the American Way, determined to kiss the ass of the UN and some fantasy of global socialist government. If you think our government is bad, just wait until you useful idiots reap the bitter fruits of your labors.
Liberals have no sense of self-preservastion, automatically jump to defend their enemies, undermine the thought of self-reliance. No borders, no responsibility in a volatile world = nothing to defend. They tilt their heads back and ask to be beheaded as if it was honorable.

Never happened, what's a F-4 Phantom or an F-14? I see nothing like that in the Constitution. Time marches on.

Then amend the Constitution or stop pretending to uphold it.

I love how the one guy who talks about upholding the Constitution is a "commie" and everybody that cites it when it's convenient while ignoring it all the rest of the time are considered "patriots".

Orwell would be proud.

I'm all for laissez faire policy if it would work. We're just a bunch of coal burners sittin around having heated discussions for the last 4 years :D
Coal, the fuel that heats you twice, once when you burn it, and once when you get on the politics section of nepacrossroads :D

The thing is, there's a lot of business going on, people bigger than us making deals where greed is more important than the USA to them; politicians like Obama and Clinton that don't have any sense of american exceptionalism, and have sinister agendas that turn their back on the good ole USA.
Also consider strategic resources that win or lose wars. China has the corner on the rare earth materials market. There's a project going on in Commifornia to mine enough rare earth materials to help us. Of course libs want it all shut down because it gives mommy earth a boo boo.

I don't want injustice, it seems to me Obama has the intent of wrecking this country as fast as he can. Look at his sketchy bio, narcissism, background, associates, agenda, completely obvious to me who the better choice is.Romney/Ryan
6 trillion added debt, welfare statism, absurd energy non-policy, solyndra scandal, Fast & Furious, snubbing Israel, spiking the ball a thousand times on Bin Laden, then Benghazigate. Calling GM a success when nobody on earth wants or can afford a Volt, GM stock at 1/2 what it needs to bew to break even. etc.

Like I've said a million times on here - this all boils down to lack of morals. This is what you get when the society as a whole doesn't believe in God, and starts to ridicule those that do. We didn't have these problems 100 years ago ... or even 50 years ago. There's a reason why.
