Amazing that came from the left leaning NYT. I'd like to see them reprint that now. :D Obama tells us the auto industry is "roaring ahead"; but he doesn't tell us GM stock is at half what it needs to be to break even.

It always has been & will continue to come down to the renegotation of union benefits which are so out of touch with reality, it's saddening. I was union back in the 60's & 70's when they took care of their membership. Today it's mostly dead weight :(

Obama was counting on the "idiot" voters to re-elect him. He looked squarely in the camera and LIED like it was the God-honest truth. He knows those dummies in the ghetto will just take him at his word. He knows full well the media will NOT fact check him, or call him out on ANYTHING he says. He's got the green light to do whatever it takes to get re-elected.

This guy is unbelievable ... arrogant .... condescending.

I'm no Obama fan, but in my opinion Romney is even worse.
The guy will say anything to anybody at any time. He's a chameleon. He aligns himself with the Tea party to get the nomination then in 90 min of the first debate slides right over to the moderate left. Most anybody from Mass can tell you what his positions were as Gov there. Compare those to now and he's flip/flopped on every major issue. During his term as Gov, the economic turndown and subsequent recovery Mass lagged behind the rest of the nation on jobs and pay. Could keep up with a state, how's he going to run a country?
He was the architect of Obama care and now (like every other position) has changed his tune. I have family who worked for KB Toy's in Lee, Mass when Romney and Bain stepped in and raped and plundered the company into bankruptcy (with crushing debt and laying people off)and paying Bain "special dividends"). This is fine to make money for your investors, but don't then talk about deficit and jobs! The guy says He's all about jobs yet he outsourced way more then he ever created. If that's not enough, he refuses to disclose the details of his "plan" and what he does say just doesn't add up. He's Bush/Cheney with a shoeshine and haircut. We can ill afford another dose of that! Damn near ruined the world economy never mind ours.

Reminds me of that old--if ya can't dazzle em with your brilliance, baffle em with your bullshit. Sounds like you're running with the BS--I keep looking at the last 4 yrs & the unkept PROMISES for CHANGE :( & just believe it's time to give someone else a chance--having faith that us working grunts will benefit some from this next four with Romney & Ryan ___ just for the record, Romney was not the Czar of Bain, there were other people involved & it was just business--

Thats the way I am approaching this as well. Heck if Obamma was good for us the last 4yrs I would actually vote for him, and I am republican. I didn't vote for Bushes 2nd term. But truth is Obama is full of BS. So for me its time to try someone else who I feel will do a better job, right now I think it is Romney. If he does get elected in and 4yrs from now he does not do what he says and we are no better off or worse, I will not vote for him either. I do believe he will do better than the current admin.

Not true Steve - don't believe what the media tells you. When Romney was governor we had a SURPLUS for the first time in decades. That's saying something with a legislature that's 87% democrat. The Gun Owners Action League had more access to the Romney administration than any other since the King admin of '79 - he worked with sportsmen/hunters and got many pro-gun laws passed. They weren't perfect - how can they be with 87% democrats at the helm - but they were as good as we were going to get for MA. He did better than any governor this state has ever had, in my opinion - don't believe the MSM.

Don't live in Ma. so I can only go by what I find, don't know why any organization would stick its neck out by lying. http://www.factcheck.org/2012/06/romney ... -or-worst/

I guess we'll see Fella's. I just have a problem with Romney not releasing any specifics and promising things that can't possibly add up? What if he is another Bush/Chaney? I understand the frustration and I can agree but sometimes the enemy you know..............and all that. I'd give him/someone else a try Fred if I knew exactly what he was going to do but I don't and neither does anyone else because he has refused to specify his "plan". That's all I'm saying. It's a big shot in the dark.

Then again some people refuse to listen or read anything that doesn't agree with them, I have seen plenty of times here when someone will use it or other sources as fact for their thoughts but then turn around & say it's bogus if it doesn't agree with them. The reality is if your mind is made up & you don't want to hear anything else then it's a waste of time. At least there are only two weeks to go.

I would be glad too if I knew what "different" was and I'm plenty willing to listen, but the facts are I don't know where the guy stands on anything because he keeps changing positions and his "unspecified" campaign promises don't add up. Maybe you guys can explain to me how what he's stated (tax cuts and spending) makes any mathematical sense? Could be I'm just mathematically challenged? You got to admit he's flip/flopped on almost every significant position since he was Gov too. I may still vote for the guy but I've never been a man of Faith and I'm not about to take Romney on it either. If I can be convinced he'll get my vote.

If he is able to expand the economy and lower the cost of energy then these things are readily possible. How much money will energy independence free up?

With the present dead economy things don't add up but it doesn't have to stay dead.
