A big thank you

A big thank you

I haven't been on in awhile, but I just want to say thank you to everybody on here for all of your help. I am going into my second full season of burning with my hitzer 50-93 and I don't have enough great things to say. The stove is all I could hope for. Last year I burned 3 tons heating my 2400 sq. ft house including basement. The stove has great control and ease of use once you get the hang of it. Just like the ronco just set it and forget it until its time to give it some loving. I may not burn as much this year as I just insulated my house. Blow in insulation. That's a whole other post. I did end up installing a barometric damper not the manual damper. I may be losing alittle heat, but I prefer it as I often work long shifts and don't have to time to be babysitting it. At least that way I know it wont get too out of hand if it ramps up. The bimetallic thermastat on it may have a lot to do with it as we'll. anyways if your looking into getting a coal stove I would definately recommend the hitzer 50-93. Their service is great too. I just ordered new gaskets and a new hopper door latch and they were very helpful. Don't turn down your thermastat a d freeze all winter. Put in a coal stove! Hope everybody is well.

Glad to hear you are happy with your purchase. Smart move on the insulation...it will pay you back every day.

Where the shaker nipple come out of the stove body, we were constantly having a real hot spot there in the fire box-- the washer closes up the gap

It wasn't all that easy, first we had to form a committee to research the situation to find out who was to blame, then hire an engineer to confirm we'd actually used the proper UAE washer, then the union guys complained because we did our own filing of the washer---again, it wasn't easy & just took some time. All is good in the hand fired area--nowwww, you girly guys, seems like all kind of situations pop up. ;)
