Still out here. I'm sure it will be for the rest of the week. It's par for the course out here, so we're always prepared. I'm just glad I was able to talk the rest of the neighborhood into getting generators last year. Everyone is VERY happy today. 8-)

I'm very happy as well, since I've got a mason jar of moonshine from the great state of TN in front of me right now. :dancing: :woot:

We are still out, lost it yesterday afternoon. I have a small genny to run the refridge and a couple lights. No hot water, or well pump for that matter. Gas stove so I can still cook, just can't clean up too much. Getting a 12kw before this happens again. Used from my father in law of course but it will work. Now I just have to get my electrician out here to wire the damned thing up. When I built the house I had it all pre wired for a genny just didn't run the wiring out to the shop. It didn't exist. Hoping for power by Saturday. Fingers crossed sections of town look pretty bad.

Still out here. Don't expect JCP&L to get the power on for 2-3 weeks. They claim 7-10 but c'mon, it's JCP&L, they say a lot of things and since I'm way out in the sticks who cares, "We'll get to your neck of the woods when we feel like it."

We lost power for about 12 hours. We had the bathtub full of water, layed in food stuffs that would cook easy, got an extra propane bottle for the propane kitchen stove, candles, etc etc etc. Most drastic thing that occurred was two roof leaks appeared which were never there before. Rain came from the east south east. Will have to get up on the roof and find out what happened and fix it before the next rain storm or worse, ice and snow pile up. I also found out I can burn wood pellets in the LL econo 1 stoker. Not very well but in an emergency we can do it a shovel full at a time. If I could coax a bit more draft from the chimney it would be just fine.

Went down to my last 5 gallon container of gas. Went to work this morning. Drove 35 miles one way. Looked like a war zone. Office called. "Where are you, what are you doing?"

"Well, we're scheduled to go to Elizabeth. Not happening. Truck is bingo on fuel and I can't find gas. I'm heading home."

Drove 35 miles home. Got home, shut the genny off. Changed the oil and spark plug. Spent the next three hours looking for gas. Found some in upstate NY. Generator was fired back up for lunch, will be shut down until dinner. Then It'll be fired up before bed then shut off for the night. Hopefully the food keeps in the fridge for 8 hours. I don't see why it wouldn't.

Not sure what I'm doing about work tomorrow. There's no gas in the work truck. Might have to run upstate again and hope they still have fuel.

Gonna start mixing nut in the pea and throwing it in the DS. Pea at this point is just not warm enough.

This is scary.

It will burn back into the hopper so be careful pellets not recommended

We had power restored on tuesday at 1:30 pm, but lost our phone after the storm was over, tuesday 10:00am (no computer    ) I spoke to a verizon phone repair man on the street, he said all the people without power last year for weeks had called the public utility comission. The were imposed fines so they were on the ball this year.
