Sam I have no idea what you are babbling about. I'm not a Redeemer. That refers to Christianity and the belief that we are "saved." Don't want to shock you or anyone else on the forum but that along with all other religion is IMO a lot of hooey. My "beliefs" are that organized religion was made up by men who were just alittle smarter than the average joe way back when in order to control them.
What I'm talking about is a group of nut jobs (yes a very large group) who want to kill us just because we exist. I would do anything and everything I could to keep them from being sucessful and that includes killing them or putting a wet towel on their heads. If that offends your sensitivities I really don't care.

Sorry CK, I mistook you for one of the members that knows a bit about American History, it has everything to do with the period of reconstruction following the Civil War & little if anything to do with modern day religion, there are many similarities between then & now.

Redeemers. That is an interesting link, something I was not aware of. This line struck a chord:

"they typically ... lowered politicians' salaries ..."

and led to this chain of thought:
Politicians' salaries used to be important ...
Freedom of speech is a person's right.
Corporations are people and money is speech.
Giving money to politicians can not be bribery if money is speech -- it is just a way of speaking to your congressman.
Politicians' salaries are largely irrelevant as long as corporations speak freely.

Ah, the logic of SCOTUS.
