A fix for NJ sufferers

When my parents were flooded last year we were working 18he days. Always wet and the mud the Red Cross would come by with supplies and warm food every couple hrs. I thought they were great. Maybe it depends on the area? I did see a lot of people taking advantage of the supplies they were giving out though. That was the worst disaster I have ever been personally involved in. I hope to never be impacted like that again.

No doubt, when they get there they are better then nothing when you have nothing. But they spend most of their money on the organization and their political ambitions not helping people.

My boss was talking about this the other day, he said years ago young men would have helped in situations like this. No you see able body young men in the handout lines. More progams = More dependance


I think like fred if you had one or two people from the gov giving money to the states that money could be more effective. That way you don't have to pay the salaries of all the fema personel. Imagine that the states could get more finacal assistance for less. more hands in the cookie jar are bad. That is a funny thing people order stuff off the net to cut out the middle man and save money, but on the other side of the token they think the middle man (Fema) is a good thing

I actually know one of these idiots, and I threw him out of my hunting camp and told him not to come back. He was Sam personified. Picked a fight with everyone in camp(all owners of said camp) and spouted the exact same crap, verbatim. Just to explain him, He became a millionaire working for the US gov. then got hosed big time in the crash. So he goes back to school(on our nickel) and gets a FEMA job. You guessed it, he spent months making stupid money down in Vermont "helping" with flood relief. His most telling comment to me was,"I'll suck that teat till it runs dry." Meaning the gov. money. I know quite a few like this just not all FEMA officials. These people are very ego centric and believe they are worth all they get and more, screw everyone else. And the inevitable natural disaster is just an opportunity to make money. They think volunteers are silly. You could be getting paid for that!
