A fix for NJ sufferers

When my parents were flooded last year we were working 18he days. Always wet and the mud the Red Cross would come by with supplies and warm food every couple hrs. I thought they were great. Maybe it depends on the area? I did see a lot of people taking advantage of the supplies they were giving out though. That was the worst disaster I have ever been personally involved in. I hope to never be impacted like that again.

No doubt, when they get there they are better then nothing when you have nothing. But they spend most of their money on the organization and their political ambitions not helping people.

I hope you don't think that Slick Willerd's idea of states or better yet privetizing FEMA! would work any better? Can you see it? "I can offer help (Mrs. 85 year old lady) after I see if your Visa goes through

What happened to this ladys family??? Sons of any neighbors?????

My boss was talking about this the other day, he said years ago young men would have helped in situations like this. No you see able body young men in the handout lines. More progams = More dependance

I think like fred if you had one or two people from the gov giving money to the states that money could be more effective. That way you don't have to pay the salaries of all the fema personel. Imagine that the states could get more finacal assistance for less. more hands in the cookie jar are bad. That is a funny thing people order stuff off the net to cut out the middle man and save money, but on the other side of the token they think the middle man (Fema) is a good thing :?

Other than a knee-jerk reaction against all things government, why exactly does FEMA suck again

http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government ... ery-Monday

5 days to get a bottle of water to suffers in Katrina. They still have thousands of campers rotting somewhere ususable. I hear on this board they are still screwing around after Irene.

Phnkidots

Geez, how much evidence do you need. What is wrong with you - big govt doesn't work.

My knee won't stop jerking. Jerk, jerk, this will aggravate my knee injury.

Breitbart News spoke with contracting officer Annette Wright, who said that the winning vendor would be required to deliver the 2.3 million gallons of bottled water to an East Farmingdale, New York distribution center that was listed in the solicitation request by Monday, November 5th. Ms. Wright was unable to say when or how the water would be delivered from the distribution center to needy Hurricane Sandy victims in New Jersey, Staten Island, Long Island, and other boroughs of New York City. Vendors "are currently being evaluated," she said, and when the vendors are announced, they will provide information on how local distribution will occur.

ROTFLMAO - low bid vendor, geez what a bunch of clowns. They still have no idea how the water will get to where it is needed.

Ya see Sam this is how it goes in the venture capital world. ... and POTUS said no red tape.

(479) 273-4000 - This is POTUS I wish to speak to Sam. Hi Sam, I need 5MM bottles of water to get to xxx destination ASAP, warm up the trucks. I will pay $5 a bottle. I need another 5 million every week until I say stop. I will pay you to stockpile 20MM for the future. Can't stop, have go hug Christie,, then off to OH before hitting the craps tables. I you have a problems call me there.

Yep, couldn't run a lemonade stand.

AHAHAHAHAHAHHA - there goes another rib. I am such a card.

Makes you wonder how we were ever born, aye? Our great-great grandparents had no FEMA, no welfare, no food stamps, no unemployment, no SSI, no disability, NO BIG GOVERNMENT - and somehow they all managed to survive ... because we're all here!

Or how about.. Iraq a few year ago.

Hey Norm, we got through the border and the tank columns from hell have those new-fangled GPSs up and running, the revolutionary guard won't know what hit them when we come out of the desert..... hey, great news son but it has to 130F in this damned tank get me a bottle of water..... sorry Norm, you see the low bid vendor did not meet our top price (which we dreamed up in the coffee room) and we are fresh out........ Norm, Norm, put down that shotgun you would not like to do anything you would regret...... :D :D :D

These people would be funnier than Monty Python. Or at least would be if only people were not dying here.

2AM and the beer be workin' just fine. Monty would have a field day with these idiots. Sam you must be so proud of them. I have a good beer buzz goin' so if your up, I can go on but I only do encore requests when I'm drunk.... I could have a film script written by the morning.... I'm not this funny or creative sober.

I actually know one of these idiots, and I threw him out of my hunting camp and told him not to come back. He was Sam personified. Picked a fight with everyone in camp(all owners of said camp) and spouted the exact same crap, verbatim. Just to explain him, He became a millionaire working for the US gov. then got hosed big time in the crash. So he goes back to school(on our nickel) and gets a FEMA job. You guessed it, he spent months making stupid money down in Vermont "helping" with flood relief. His most telling comment to me was,"I'll suck that teat till it runs dry." Meaning the gov. money. I know quite a few like this just not all FEMA officials. These people are very ego centric and believe they are worth all they get and more, screw everyone else. And the inevitable natural disaster is just an opportunity to make money. They think volunteers are silly. You could be getting paid for that!
