Here is a list of articles which gives an overview of the situation right now.
And we should be proud of those who are sticking up for themselves versus the ones who are crying and whining that the Government is nowhere near to save them or those who are looting.

I ain't saying those things aren't going on but that's NYC it goes on with the same people daily, as for the airports they were under water two days ago, craigslist- there are scammers on there every day & from what I saw of service stations they weren't gouging. Maybe all of you that are griping about things going so slow could take a few that are now homeless in for awhile (Christian thing to do) what would you all want if a EARTHQUAKE WOULD SLIDE CA.into the ocean, put it back in 7 days? I think your all asking the wrong guys. If there ain't nothing bad you have nothing to write & then you criticize the news media for the same type of thing, they only report what most want to hear.

Sam if you are saying that living in New York City in general terms generally sucks. I would agree 100%. That's why I don't live there. Seven years of living in Chicago was enough of the urban experience for me. Enough to last 3 lifetimes. The whole point of what is being said here is this is small potatoes compared to a really big disaster. The point is that people that are totally dependent upon large support systems, have a real hard time when those systems stop working. This storm was forecasted days and days before it hit. I'm not afraid of much, but; one of the things that frighten me is the mob mentality.

Here is another story just hot off the presses.

I worked in U.S.Steel Braddock, Pa. when times were good & there was not natural disaster, there was Talbot Towers there the newest public housing in the county that they tore down because the elevators where used as Who** houses on the insides & trash compactors in the shafts. They used to shoot at plant guards & workers when they saw them, bottom line is scum is scum & everywhere we have had decades of spineless politicians that were too afraid of causing riots so they just keep giving more & the people keep electing them then all of a sudden it's the fault of a few people. This crap is nothing new & just as your link said there are heroes as well as villains, maybe if the heroes got more attention than the villains it would help a hell of a lot.

You need to talk to people I know that are there right now in the thick of it.

I have a bunch of friends and family that live on Staten Island...so I'm not talking out of my arse here.
