All's well up north here on the Maine coast I'm happy to say. Sandy wasn't much of anything for us with the exception that the price of gas went up about 8 cents overnight.

Can't complain though based on some of our fellow friends to the south of me. Hope you are all well and this is cleaned up and just a story to tell your grandkids soon. Greg had some good advice for those in tougher positions.

That said, I've been dogging it with big old breakfasts while Kim's home. The girl is fattening me up with her excellent cooking. Big brunch tomorrow with all the family coming by too :D . Waffles, yogurt, fresh fruits, home fries, eggs, etc.............

Yeah, we got off easy up here. Power was out for just under 3 days & I didn't even have to fire up the chainsaw - can't mind that. I knew NY & NJ got hit hard ... but watching the news reports and seeing the pictures brings it to a whole new level. God help those people.

House is 61° right now, so I'll be firing up the last of the barn roof deck tonight to take the chill off. Then tomorrow I'll have to take the twisted-wire wheel to the coils to get the 1/4" of creosote off it. What a difference - the coils suck now! Definitely need a cleaning before the coal gets lit. I refuse to remove them to clean them though - had enough leaks to last a lifetime with these damn things! :x

Blazer is running again, and leak free. Still a bit of work to do before she's road ready. Got to drop the pan and change filter in the tranny while the crossmember & exhaust is down, then replace a 2 year old ball joint that's toast on the passenger side (needs sticker this month  ), & replace a busted fan switch so the wifey can have some heat. THEN it'll FINALLY be done!! Thank God!!

No coffee for me, I missed it this morning and have been on the move all day. Now I finally get a chance to unwind and some Canadian beer will do just fine. I sure hope everyone that got slammed by Sandy is able to get through this. From what I have seen on the news, it is pretty rough in some areas. The storm didn't bother us, but we still had something unscheduled and unwanted to deal with. My dad had a stent put in his heart 6 weeks ago, and the doctors thought they had him good to go. He felt fantatsic for about a month, but said he felt pretty rough last weekend. On Wednesday he had severe chest pain while walking up the basement stairs. It got so bad, he took nitro pills and called an ambulance. Long story short, a different part of his heart was restricted, and the doctors thing he is getting inflamation around those spots which causes even more of an issue...'angina' is the word they used. They put him on medication that is supposed to help. He is home, and feeling good.

I hope so! Right now half my clocks say 5 AM, the other half say 6. We have one "atomic clock" that sets itself from some signal from out west, but... it only does it if I put it in a west facing window for a couple of nights.

Rob, Glad your Dad is ok. That sucks that the stent worked well but the other issue came to light.
My Mom has that angina stuff too. She's always got those nitro's handy just in case. I got her a recomb magnetic stationary bike and she's worked up to about 4 miles in 30 min, 5 days a week. It's made a big differance and I also cut her Meds list just about in half as her Doctor had her loaded up and near out of it. She's back and lucid and full of energy again (for an 82 year old) and that's great although now she drives me a bit nuts about some things I had forgotten she used to do ;) .
Anyways glad all is well and he's back to good!

Got to fly now to help Kim with the massive brunch for 12 that we're fixing this morning. :D
