Hello and thank you for looking,
I have any older (1982) jensen furnace that I just got all hooked up,
my problem is I can not get the Blower fan to stop after it heats up. the draft fan works off the thermostat but the blower keeps going.
I know its hooked up right because I took it out of my parents house and its hooked up the same way they had it.
could it be a bad heat disk if so what one would it be? If you need more in please let me know
I have attached some pic of the unit . Thanks

Forgot to say that fan does not kick on till it reached the correct temp that is adjustable via a disk so I believe that disk is fine .

Do you have a draft control installed on this unit? If the chimney pulls sufficient air through the fire without the draft fan running, the furnace blower will run all the time.

It has a draft unit on it, the thermostat controls that only, when I turn the thermostat up it clicks and turns it on when I turn it down it goes off as it should.

The only reason this is a problem is Its so hot in my home that I have to open every window and door to cool it down. and I don't want the fan on 24/7.

By draft control I mean a barometric damper. It mounts on the smoke pipe and looks like this:

Oh crap I'm sorry I didn't know you ment that sorry, I was told I didnt need one but that could be wrong, As it stands now I have a 90 from the stove goes up three feet then another 90 to the chimney, thats it. do you think this could be the problem if so why? why would the draft make the fan run all the time. ?? I don't get how the exhaust of the gasses have to do with the heat disk that control the on off of the fan and thermostat. I know nothing about this kind of stuff so thank you for explaining.

We all learn as we burn...good lesson # 1. Don't ask the local Big Box or supply house unless THEY burn coal, most have no clue.....and look at you like you have three heads. They like the 99.7% propane and nat gas boilers.
......if only they were smart enough to open their eyes and see the Forest...but the damned trees are always in the way......

I was thinking of a Jensen I removed last year.....there was no tankless.....hmmmm. You could think of a dump zone somewhere in the home......I use a radiant heated patio loop. Wasn't intended as such, but perfect.
You could find a Modine style heater, of a few cast iron radiators ganged together run by their own aquastat and controlled by a zone valve or circulator. Either will work, and with a hand fed. it's more work to keep the temps uniform without some storage or a dump zone.

The fan seems to be a constant 'on' to provide minimum air to prevent outfires.

So prehaps cover the intake of said fan as we Harman guys do? Or hook up a system to make the fan variable? Only need full blast to get lots of heat.

Check out this link, I did a search for the VF3000 I run because I knew there were problems with the fan speeds. I made a simple rig to provide full power when stoker was running and a variable speed when it was not. If this unit of yours is not a stoker then just covering the inlet should reduce the temps. Or get the variable speed hooked into a call for heat with a relay from the control.
