Returning from link in preview of post a reply

When posting a reply, I put a link in the post, in the preview the link worked fine but returning to the post it said page expired and post was missing.
I reset for standard time in user control panel, and that didn't help.
I posted without testing the link in preview and it worked fine, meaning link worked in post, and returning to the post was fine.

There is a token in the page code issued which expires. This is a security measure to prevent what is called an XSS attack.

As far as the text not appearing the text should be in the box and then you only have to resubmit it.

Did you use the back button in conjunction with IE?

Yes back button and IE.

IE doesn't save the information when you hit the back button, FF does and ever other browser does.

The text should have been in the box if you you got the invalid form error.
