Good question for debate. What do you think they can do?? Become more socialist? More moderate? either way the Dems. win. It will come to violence before that happens. Any ideas for the republicans anyone?

Kevin

How about just being fair and treating women as equals, and letting women decide what's best for them and their bodies and not some man/men who are out of touch with their issues. The GOP is still in Victorian times where women are second class citizens. Until they change that mindset, they will never be able to court the majority of that demographic.

Chester, I'm not saying women are the answer (to the GOP problems) , I'm just responding to Kevin's question about women in particular as a part of the GOP's current problems. They need a serious "makeover" ;) to become viable again in todays political landscape and their attitude about women's issues is just a part of that.

If the GOP wants to be relevant in national elections again, they need to move back towards the center. This worked for decades for them (the Nixon-Bush Sr period is a great example) and they forgot that by drifting hard to the Right. Writing off women, minorities and young people is not a good way to build a coalition.

Also perhaps try to run a candidate who is actually viable. Mittens was and is a complete and utter joke. They needed to run someone along the lines of Christie to have a shot.

I agree Davian. As much as they are chastising Christy for "helping" The President, he is actually a much more viable candidate for them. Most hard core conservatives will fight tooth and nail not to move center and there in lies the problem. It's a bit of a catch 22 right now for them after courting the Tea Party and Religeous right they have problems satisfying enough of the rest of the country to get over the hump. They seemed to be courting Christie (Keynote speaker and that) but may know spank him and go with Rubio to try and court the latino demographic where they are got hurt big time. The problem again is that Marco is way right of center too. A Latino Ryan for all practical purposes. It will be interesting to see what strategy they employ to turn it around.

Whatever strategy the Republicans use in an attempt to reinvent themselves, we can be sure it will not involve adherence to the words found within the Constitution.
