I just dont see making it easier to vote an issue. It doesn't increase voter fraud. Having Election Day on a normal workday is stupid for a lot of reasons. If they dont want to make it a holiday where everyone gets off work, then they should make voting as easy as possible. Early voting works in all the states that use it and it promotes higher voter turnout which, in my opinion, is far more democratic.
Sure, people should be willing to stand in line for hours but the reality is that many cant. And those long lines weren't just in states affected by Irene, they were in every highly populated area in the country. So, just like the disabled and just like the military overseas, I dont see early voting for anyone as an issue. Should my vote count less because I voted the Friday before Election Day?
