Hello new to the site. Bought a used hyfire II just started up for the first time. Trying to figure everything out. The issue with the coal-trol is the status indicator light blinks and reads MANFAN. cannot find any info on this. Can anyone help me out there.

Thanks in advance

The status indicator blinking is a reminder that you have the convection fan set to manual operation. You would want to go into the setup menu and change that to FSA (Fan Speed Auto). If you don't already have a user manual for the Coal-Trol, you can download one at the manufacturer's website at http://www.automationcorrect.com

Coal-Trol also has a support forum here on the NEPA Crossroads board. You can find that at Coal-Trol Digital Thermostat, where there's a lot of useful information and tips an running the Coal-Trol.

If you hit the menu button you see FSM and a number. Use the up or down arrow to take that number past 99 or below 1 it will change to FSA or (fan speed Auto)

sorry fell asleep last night. Getting ready to try it now. Trying to get a little more heat in a 2300 sq ft log home. The basement is concrete insulated forms. I hope we can get the heat up to the second and third floor. The Hyfire ran all night and the basement is only at 72 degrees. I don't think we know what we are doing. But I will be trying to learn!

Thanks to everyone

Hi, You probably need to set the Max setting as well. 2300sq ft is no problem for a Hyfire. If you need to give us a call tomorrow at the shop. Mondays are usually crazy but we try to help everyone . [Phone Number Removed] Also do you have a Barometric Damper and are you on a chimney or powervent?

Thanks for all your input. We do have a barometric damper its set on 4 and yes we have a chimney, The status light is still blinking but I got the manfan off. When I read all the information on here it is sometimes confusing. We did print the manual for the stove and the thermostat. we have read both but it is a lot to digest. Trying to learn as we go.
