Has anyone heard any reviews on the Pellergy unit?

Was wondering if there may be an equivalant in coal?

No really an equivalent. You'll need substantially more pellets, room for pellets, a bigger hopper and more refills. Also most coal systems don't shutdown and start up.

Leisure Line, EFM, AA, AHS, Patriot make some nice units.

Some more reasons to go with coal.
