Pike

Pike

PostBy: Rwalker On: Sun Nov 11, 2012 3:58 pm

The temp is up to 70 today in central PA, so I headed out to the lake in the chest waders and tossed the Huddleston Weedless Golden Shad out.

Low and behold I caught my first EVER pike! LOL! A little 14" or so, but my first pike none the less. :D

Despite all the election bullsh*t getting me down, it was nice to get outside and get the line in the water. Of course, my cell phone was dead so no pic but I know where to look for them next time.

Hope other PA'rs are outside enjoying this Indian Summer.

Yep, only managed the pike and a smaller largemouth, but a fish is a fish. I wouldn't have went hungry! ;)

Might get out tomorrow as well since I have the day off. Get up early and drive over to the beaver pond. Haven't decided yet because the wife is on a mission to get the inside of the house painted before our family Thanksgiving. :whip:

Fishing is something I would like to get out more and do with my daughter in the future. I did stock the pond with some Large mouths and bluegill this summer.

It is my one vice. I don't like to spend money "foolishly" but when it comes to fishing and guns/ammo, I go all out. The in-laws sold me an old Sylvan fishing boat and trailer, next year I will officially be a boat fisherman and no longer just a shore fisherman, though the shore has been nice to me this year!

My daughter is 5 and has caught a couple big channel cats. She LOVES it!

Here is a 4-pound 23" Tiger Trout I caught this summer. Going to get a replica made of it for the fishing wall, should look real nice.
