NO, I did not vote for BO, BUT, he is our PRES. & I will get behind our Country as always. To me, this is nothing but disrespect. The story of the lil boy crying wolf keeps running through my mind--distress is about a life & death situation. What I can do, is make my voice heard. I also keep flashing on all the flag burning during the Vietnam era, I suppose some of the live & let live people thought/think that was a real message---NOT ME--Again--DISRESPECT to our Country as a whole--I think if the love it or leave it concept came into play, we could rid ourselves a lot of mealy mouthed non Patriots. Just one old farmers thoughts.

Thanks for that Fred. We are in agreement. I will ALWAYS get behind my country. However, I will also always fear my government as long as it continues down the path it is on.

I don't really feel "free" in a system that takes over $400 from MY paycheck for taxes. I don't mind so much when the money is used right (by right I mean keeps our roads good, keeps our parks nice, and keeps our State Police out on patrol), but when the money is used for Obama Phones, to keep inmates with life sentences that are so sick with cancer it costs hundreds of thousands to keep them alive IN PRISON, and the rows of low income housing in town full to the brim with single, drugged out mom's with 7 kids, I get a little upset. Especially, like I have said in a different post, when I am in line at the local shopping center and the lady in front of me is paying for a cart full of food with food stamps and talking on an Iphone. Then I get even MORE upset. I worked my ass off to get to where I am, and I am still middle class. I am the only one of my siblings to go to and finish college. I am STILL paying for it because I had to pay for it myself and I got LOANS. I couldn't claim independant and get all that nice free money because I lived at home with my parents, so I got LOANS that now, at age 35, I am still writing a check for every month. I then got into a great job and busted my ass to get where I am. To see people leech off the government and to watch them chip away the money I EARNED to feed, clothe, or give free medical to someone who chose to drop out and get knocked up PISSES ME OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And the funny part is, we as a family still continue to donate money to local charties, take all the kids old clothes to drop offs, and fill boxes with canned goods when our kid's school has a food drive.

I don't really feel "free" when a government can tell me what I can or cannot do with my body either. By that I mean, I shouldn't HAVE to wear a seat belt. I shouldn't HAVE to wear a helmet. I am a grown ass man, if I chose to not do those things who am I hurting besides myself? We finally overturned that stupid helmet law, but you get my drift. Also, we have organizations like the ATF, DEA, etc. that focus on and spend billions of dollars on monitoring drugs, alcohol, tobacco, and guns? WTF? Seriously. You want to bring this country out of recession? Stop the war on drugs first. Allow free trade of them into the country, have drug houses where the stuff is legal and is monitored, and let the freaks go there, pay out the ass, put a tax on it like cigs, and have your fun. We allow people to drink, which kills more people then all the other drugs combined, but we dont allow people to walk into a store and buy weed? No way. We spend billions stopping weed while people die every single day from smoking and drinking. Why is it that our government allows alcohol and tobacco? Because it can tax it and make that money. Here in PA, our liquor stores are STATE OWNED. Hmmm.... The same could go for drug businesses as well. Just my 2 cents.

As of today, 11/17/2012, this is still the greatest place in the world to live. Will it still be in 4 years? I doubt it. And that scares the hell out of me. I am now and will always be a Patriot. The flag I fly will never run, but the evil deeds of men in power may very well make her die a terrible death.

Yeah that was about as ridiculous as it could get.

That is another show of how we aren't really as "free" as we think we are. Do you realize, if you are acused of a crime and arrested for said crime, you are going to have 2 options. Option 1 is going to be to plead and get an automatic sentence, option 2 will be a threat from the judge that if you dont plea, you are going to get twice the time IF the jury finds you guilty. CRAZY.

Being a Veitnam Vet Fred, it reminds of a certain case here in PA. A Vietnam Vet's house was broken into by a naked man. No joke. Now this dude saw serious combat and wasn't exactly stable. He confronts said naked man, and the man runs out of his house. The Vietnam Vet takes chase and shoots him dead in his back yard. He refuses a plea because he is claiming self-defense and serious PTSD. He got life. A man with a Purple Heart got a life sentence for killing a naked man that broke into his house simply because he chased him down and killed him in his backyard.

Remember, we are living in a country today that doesn't have physical fitness tests in school anymore and coaches are fired over pushing their athletes too hard. We actually had several parents complain that our son's football coaches were too hard on them last year, so this year half the kids WALKED the drills. I came to practice early one day to check up on my own son. I saw him dogging it because he could half-ass it and still beat everyone due to half the kids walking. When he got home he ran 10 hills in full gear and was lectured on the importance of going 100%. He only needed that once and I never saw him dog it again.

His teacher called us yesterday and said he got in trouble at school. During recess they were playing 2-hand touch football and he blocked a pass and celebrated with an arm pump. The other kids ran over to the recess monitor and told on him for "bragging" and he was lectured on it. Luckily I was on my way home from work when the phone call came in to the wife or I would have LOST it on the phone with that school.

Remember the days when we had to work to be on the team? Kids didnt make it? Kids sat on the bench if they werent good enough? First place won the trophy? Gym class had you do push-ups, pull-ups, and you played dodge ball with volleyballs and kids got knocked the f*ck out?!? You went outside in the snow for gym and recess? Those days are OVER.

The weak get eaten. It is the same now as it was then. I dont ask for hand-outs or for the rich to be overly taxed because they WORKED to get there. That NFL QB that signed the 100 million dollar deal didnt take the easy route. He didn't walk during practice. He didn't get a trophy just for showing up. He earned it.

We as a society and as AMERICA have lost the need to EARN it.

Listen. I am speaking from experience because I work in the "business". I sat in a room full of people last Thursday and listened to the Director of CCC's in my state. CCC's are Community Correction Centers. This came out of her mouth directly, "Every SINGLE inmate who is paroled to a CCC as of 01/01/13 will be given a cell phone with 300 minutes a month and internet to assist in community re-integration and job finding. They are terming it the "Obama Phone"" I, and 40 other people, heard it come from her mouth.

Snopes might be spot on when it comes to welfare rats, but CCC inmates will be getting them. Free minutes and internet access = tons of porn and lots of drug deals. Awesome stuff.

I will just keep giving the government $800+ a month. What other choice do I have? However I am lucky enough to have 20 year/age 50 retirement. I will have 20 when I am 47 and I am taking my ball and going home. Then when the twins graduate, we are selling it all and the road will be our home. Nothing but fish on the line, open roads, lakes, and farm ponds. However, I am doing some research and doesn't Patagonia seem like an awesome place to retire to? A 1 room log cabin...

I do have a sister-in-law & her husband that tried for it & got something like under $20 cash assistance & the idiot B-I-L even managed to screw that up, wrong complexion I guess but a AH none the less.
