I created a map for all us to post our locations and then everyone will see where the coal burners are. :)

Let me know if it works, you have to just put your ScreenName on it, email and if you want to upload a pic.

You can do that on your own site, with Google maps API. :) That is one of the things I'll be using one I get "Crossroads" up and running. I won't be using it for that purpose but for the mediawiki and a business directory and possibly some other things. Actually wouldn't be that hard to do here if the person already has a real location listed in their profile.

Ahhh well, time is the problem. :|

If you guys are really interested in this there is a mod for it that I can add. Be right here on this site, I only have to add custom profile field for your address. My only concern is if some whacko comes on here and gets pissed at someone and they have their address there.

Edit: Nevermind I see lots have added it there. Guess I'll add it.

The map only shows the town/township, as you said many have that listed here. What's more the dot on the map doesn't pinpoint an exact lacation, such as when using mapquest. The map also doesn't zoom in close enough to see streets and such. But I guess you probably already knew that.

Sites like "My Space" are much more dangerous, people love to post photos of themselves, blab on and on giving out personal information, post where they work, what they drive, do everything except give out their street address and SS number. It's a rapist/murderer's haven.
My daughter has her page set to private, she has to add you as a friend before you can view her profile. Some *censored* in Australia was sending her messages recently.

With the Internet if somebody wants to find you badly enough I suppose almost any shlub with half a brain could do it.

That's why I am thankful for the 2nd Amendment! :rambo:

Well I ony briefly messed around with the API about year ago and that particular one may have some of those features disabled but if you feed it real address it will provide everything up to an including Satellite imagery, latitude & longitude and the fastest way to get there from point A to B. :P

Don't know what you're talking about. No whackos are attracted to burning rocks in their houses and talking about it with strangers. None at all.

You would probably need a certain amount of rocks in your head to do that! :)

I think that if the avegage person came on this site and seen how excited we get to :

build coal bins

haul it into our homes

research which breaker has the best coal

and finally now that it's starting to get cold out getting all "stoked up" about being able to fire up our stoves/boilers

They may just consider some of us a " whacko" :woot: :nana:

Not that there's anything wrong with it

I added myself.

I thought about this a while ago and started to put something together but never followed through. I thought it would be nice to add member locations, dealers and coal supplier's locations.
