Now that would be a fun job. Probably pays $200k a year with free non-Obamacare insurance. It's a gov't job, after all.

A prime example right there of why a balance of power in government is a GOOD thing. My state is run 98% by democrats, and has been for decades.

Got that right.

I laugh my ass off when they throw out that 1% / 99% bullshit. They're up there on Beacon Hill in the lap of luxury, all on our dime ... and yet they refuse to hear a single word we say.

They are all for the most part just in it for themselves, I now have a republican Gov. & live in a republican area but most of the state is democrat. I found that around here anyway that your party doesn't make any difference, it's the person. Our previous Gov. was dem. & a piece of crap, I thought it couldn't get much worse but so far I'm getting proven wrong but ya got to live with what life throws ya at least for a while.

I beg to differ that PA is made up of mostly democrats. Look at the state house and the state senate. Republicans out number democrats and yes hold the governors seat as well. The numbers of democrats to republicans in the state may go to the dems because of the city's population and the number of people receiving guberment aid. I think the tax paying republicans control more physical territory. :D I think I have all the paper work in order for my license, and don't expect problems since our elected sheriff is republican. :D

Our sheriff is too. The media has forgotten we even have a sheriff - he's hardly ever in the local news. Gee ... wonder why? If he had a D after his name, the paper would fawn all over him, & tell us how great of a job he's doing on a daily basis.

Well that R majority in PA explains why you guys haven't been getting the idiotic gun laws. MA has had idiotic gun laws for nearly 2 decades now.

The sheriff in my county is a republican & when I asked about the gun issue he was all for closing the loopholes & then offered that he saw no need for the AR-15 & such simply because of the damage they can do & the fact that his men are outgunned.

Sorry to hear your sheriffs playing both sides "Samhill". Our sheriff along with 12 other PA county sheriffs have vowed to protect and uphold the constitution against any up coming unconstitutional gun control laws, the federal government may pass. :)

The wife and I recently got our carry permits. We both went to the sheriff's office(Bucks county) and were out with the permit in hand in about 20 minutes. The sheriff the took care of us said they should get rid of the permits, he doesn't really see a need for them.

I think those sheriffs are just playing politics, they know full well they can't do anything to stop it that is if they know the law. Some will admit to it & others will try & play both sides, I'd much rather have one that is honest & up front.
