Yes, but it appears the short run may last all of our lifetimes,
Hopefully. That would be awesome.

If I had access to nat gas, I'd defintiely replace my oil furnace.

I'm not questioning availability, I just know their track record with pricing.

Soooo, here in NYS--I guess the Natural Gas people need the DEC environmental study wrapped up by Nov 29--of course the A-holes been doin this since 2009 & are so busy playing politics, they seem to have gotten side tracked--their response is basically--not enough time, how can we possibly do this--I have never seen such a bunch of incompetent, over educated fools in my life-- :mad2: :(

EXACTLY! I remember some time ago, people were switching from coal to fuel oil because of the price!

Samhill hit the nail on the head. With the mild winter from last year the home heating sales are down slightly. Once the cold weather sets in and home owners use their coal supplies up from last year things will be back to normal. As it was mentioned there is a limited amount storage space at Blaschak and the short layoff will get things back to where they need to be. Good news is that overall sales are up for the year despite all of the doom and gloom that people are saying.

Would you mind sharing an estimate of what percentage of your anthracite is purchased for use in residential heat. It would also be interesting to see the ballpark percentage of sales (meaning here both residential and commercial combined) by size.

Last month, back when people were talking about lighting up their stoves,
I mentioned that it was too early for me. Because the temps were not
"that" cold yet.
We do have natural gas...

Got our gas bill this afternoon, and it was $32 more than August!
That's a buck a day... I can't mess with coal for a buck a day.
The stove is going now, we are having nights in the teens,
and days are cooler. It was in the high 20's today.
Snow tomorrow night.
Now.. it's coal weather.. :D
