Don't know about what they did there but if it were random the costs come way down & depending on the test the cost now isn't near what it was even a few years ago. I don't know for sure but I was told by junkies that the State of Pa. recognized a drug habit as a disability & eligible for assistance, hopefully that has changed they were just suppling them with a means to support their habit.

The FL testing took place earlier this year and it was 100% to receive benefits. That $45K loss did not include the cost of implementation and the court battle to get it approved.


Random testing would be far more efficient.

No, they'll just fire all their high-priced US workers and farm the work out to India...or they'll bring over 3-4 software engineers from India on H1B work visas and pay them less combined than they were paying the 1 American worker.

I used to work for a medical software company and they did this exact thing over and over and over again.

Actually they are paying enginners from india 100k + in NY, because there is a shortage in specialized software packages.

All we have too do is graduate more enginners here by incentivizing with better loan rates and lower tuition for this and not other categories, so you dont end up with 500:1 ratio of Business Majors vs Enginners.
Phys ED, Home Econ belong in after school clubs programs use the time for more math and science.
Increase school hours by 25%, reduce summer break to 1 month.

4. Revamp Justice System on both ends.

Then move all of the welfare recipients who volunteered to join workfare and the Civilian Corps rather than being faced with getting nothing (those who did not alternately choose to do the right thing and get out of Dodge and find real jobs) into the FEMA camps they just built, and get cracking at having them build the massive energy grid that will make America great again, exactly per the Obama dream. This is plan A.

Why else would any President boast that he requires and intends to build a civilian army that rivals the current military? The only other reason I can imagine is far more nefarious. That would be for the workfare civilian army to force those of ability and real skills and talents (I.E., the rest of us) into the FEMA camps, and then force the newly interned to make the energy grid dream become a reality. The rallying crys for this would of course be "From each according to his ability to each according to his need!". This slogan would provide the moral high ground required (by the workfare civilian army) for the justification of this undertaking. This is plan B.

I've purposely avoided the "thoughtful and intelligent debates" section because I don't consider myself either. But couldn't resist this one. I may need to add to my list from time to time.

I would submit a budget that could be passed. Something our current dear leader has been incapable of doing.
I would eliminate the IRS and institute a reasonable flat federal tax on all purchases. That rate would be set in stone and could not be raised arbitrarily. That would eliminate lobbyists and thin the herd of lawyers.
I would defund the war on drugs as it has been an unmitigated failure. Plan to release all non-violent drug offenders from prison. Along with that I would offer for sale some drugs legally through pharmacies. Free treatment programs with a 3 time loser provision. Fail three times and you go to prison for a year. Prison would not be a gym and tv room environment. It would require real work.
I would make welfare available only to those who TRULY cannot work and require drug testing to qualify.
I would end all goverment subsidies to corporations.
I would seal the borders and reform immigration policy to allow only immigrants who can contribute to society, not just to democrat voter roles. All those here illegally would have 90 days to register and start a track toward citizenship. Fail to register, you would be rounded up and deported. Those who register would have to pass a criminal background check to qualify.
I would require mandatory service of at least 2 years in the military or other useful govt service. National Parks, Forest Service, etc.
I would issue federal carry permits for those wanting them without a criminal record or history of mental illness. Commit a crime with a gun and go to jail for 10 years, no parole.
I would remove crazy restrictions on domestic energy development.
While i think education decisions should be left to the states, I would strongly encourage governors to require real achievement to pass from grade to grade. Those who clearly have a limited academic potential would be offered trade school training as an alternative.

No thanks. I already have a few of those with "limited academic potential" in my HVAC class. They can't figure out the dangerous end of a screwdriver and I highly doubt you want them working on your furnace unless you really don't like your house.
