Good morning all. Thanks Freddie for the Joe. Lit the Harman for the first time this am, Funky smell probably the WD-40 I sprayed it down with a couple of months ago. Using new brand of coal this year so far so good. Its a football day for me today, wife at work man I got it made! Trying to snow some here I still like it!

Mornin all. The coffee was nice and hot this morning as I walked thru our yard that was covered in frost. It sitll wasn't crunchy, so must've just been cold enough to turn the dew white, but not cold enough to freeze the grass or ground.

DVC500 humming along happily.

This weekend I just finished my welding job, and got a coat of primer & paint on it. It is a cage to surround my church's Heat Pump / A/C units. Earlier this year, one of the heatpumps decided to take a Walk-a-bout, and never came back. Scrap metal theives, the sherrif says.
So, I built a 3 ton concrete slab where the Heat pumps used to be. It is about 10' X 5'. I reinforced it with rebar and welded the rebar together. Then I welded 1/2" x 8" hardened J-Hooks to the rebar around the perimeter, to poke up thru the concrete.
Then I started on the steel cage. 3" x 1/4" angle iron for the base, Which I pre-fitted to make sure the drilled holes line up with the J-hook bolts. then 2" x 1/4" angle iron for the risers. About 1000lbs of steel once all was said and done. 4-sided welds on every connection. Lots of cutting with Plasma cutter and chop-saw.
Heres some pics of the cage still sitting in my shop.

Of cource we realize its just a "Deterent" for would-be theives, not a true anti-theft device. But if they want the new Heat pumps bad enough, they can certainly cut thru the cage. We are hoping the theif would think that would be too noisey and time consuming, so they will move on.

Well, after a week in Jeans hospital in Burholme (Philly), Pa. with pneumonia & having her DNR wishes carried out, my 99 yr old Mom passed at 9:00 AM today. My prayers were for a quick & gentle crossing, oh yeah, the Creator pays pretty close attention to things. :) Nice riggin Chris.

Sorry My Brother, to hear of your Mom's passing. 99 years old is one heck of a life amd I'm sure she lived it to the fullest. I'm really glad she didn't suffer much and was able to go with relative ease. It's really those of us left behind who feel the pain. Celebrate her long and productive life.

PS: Damn am I a dumb arse! I bought a new freezer for the basement and this morning I went down an nothing was frozen! :x I called the place I bought it from bitching, and they said they'll bring me another one on Monday. Feeling better, I go down and I can hear the compressor on and can't figure out whats up? Then it hits me. It's plugged into an outlet that is controlled by the light switch for those basement lights! So of course every time I come back up and switch the lights off, the freezer is turned off. Duh!

Nice cage there, back in my old home town they would steal both the cage & the heat pump.
