Debt free? Learning a new trade? On the couch? To what are you referring?

You somehow think you would still be making gold coins at face value but selling them at metal value. The gold standard is GONE. Now I have to run out & buy a 2 cent loaf of bread & a 4 cent gallon of milk.

After that he just whined about it being gone and did not listen to anything you said. What he really means is the Socialist he supports can't ruin the economy with a gold standard in place, and he knows it. You missed his dig about 10 hr. days for a buck. That was a shot about unions, which did not get the day reduced to 8 hrs. like they want you to think. Businesses went to it before unions came about. And you don't have to go back to his grandfather unless he is younger then he makes out to be. The workers on the new Naval Base in Cutler, ME in 1960 came from far and wide to earn a buck and hour. You want yesterdays dollar for today's work with all the advancements that many others before us fought & toiled for.

Seeing as you know nothing about me or my life other than what I tell you here, I'm going to go out on a limb and suggest your ego is of considerable size.
freetown fred wrote:My point exactly, in one post you state that I am not ego driven at all, in this one you state my ego is of considerable size.
