How long do the girly stoves burn?

Wow, that's quite a testimonial for Hitzer! I've come close to that on a low burn on my Kodiak, I'd be afraid to try it intentionally in this weather. Now I'm curious... Oh, yeah---what qualifies as a 'girly stove'?

Whoah, whoah, whoah there farmer boy...........................

I'll have you know old grizzled one that my AA 260 will go at least 2 days before the fire dies. And if necessary, I could open up the valves and get some thermo syphon going on to get some heat out of the basement and upstairs. I'll admit that I never tried it but it is supposed to do that.

And I can manually feed it and manually activate the asher mechanism if I wanted to do so.

So there..............(if only we has a smiley that stuck out its tongue at people) :nana: :nana:

If you hold the inspection door closed, hand feed the fire, and work the grate once in a while you can burn that 260 indefinitely. My neighbor did that with an AA260 for two weeks during the ice storm in 1998, heated his house via gravity circulation.

As for stokers being for girls...I guess if you want to feel manly and heat a big house you need stokers and hand fired equipment.

When I got my new stove (DS1600WH) 3 weeks ago in warm weather (40-50s) I was impressed with long burn times. I ran it at a 200deg. stove temp for 36hrs before touching it, coal was still 10inches deep burning! I really believe I could have gone another 12-24hrs possibly.

Well Freetown Fred, manly man stove operator, you only have a few more days left in 2012 to point out the drawbacks of the girly girl coal cookers.
