We all had respect for those who came back the following year and went for it again. 9 times outta 10 they made it too.
Fast forward many yrs later when I was Baby-sitt...ehhemm, I mean coaching little league teaching kids how to slide properly was frowned upon and then outlawed all together, everybody got a darn Trophpy even for Losing! BAHHHH!!
