Tech help?

PostBy: Freddy On: Tue Nov 27, 2012 11:51 am

Something odd is going on. I always use Firefox as my browser. As of yesterday I thought maybe the forum was down as when I try to get here I get a message "Not Found The requested URL /ap_index was not found on this server." All other websites work just fine, and, I can get to the Forum through AOL, which I am doing right now. Any ideas? I've tried typing the address in as if I had never been here...same thing. I cleared my history & same thing. I don't get it? A free lump of coal to the person that can figure it out! (must be picked up in person)

Using FF right now and yesterday with no problems. Did you clear just history or everything? (history,cookies,cache.etc.)

Freddy, try IE.
Also, you may have to completely remove Firefox and reinstall it. Sometimes they fight each other, and it is difficult to get it straightened out.

Nice Chris--I believe that's how that other FF problem was fixed

One, followed by the other! Yup, it'll open in IE, but also, it'll open in Firefix if I go to the history & ask it to open any NEPA address that's in the history, other than today or yesterday. <brain melting>

Try this: Go to google.com in FF, and type "nepacrossroads" in the search bar, enter, and then click on the web address that comes up. If it works, it seems like it is a DNS issue.

Didn't work... BUT....when the Goggle search comes up, under NEPACrossroads is half a dozen sites that are IN the Forum...they all work!

I may have found a work-around.... I went into the history, opened the Forum from an old link, then told Firefox to make that link my home page. It works! So now when I open Firefox the forum opens up. Ijust have to click on "new" to see new postings.

IF I were to reinstall Firefox, how do I get it to keep all my favorite places (bookmarks) ?

Oh wait, you mean this sound?

I remember this sound quite vividly myself from back in the day. I hated AOL.
