Find a different dentist. I haven't had any health insurance in over a year and we've had good luck getting all the doctors to work with us.

I wish I could find a different dentist...but in a rural area where I live we have only a half dozen to choose from and they are not taking new patients...so that is my dilemma! I wish I could drop my health insurance and pay direct, but I can't do that either! I could easily put away the $450 a month and have a stash to pay for medical needs!

I was looking into health savings accounts but I believe Obamacare does away with them and for me, it didn't make a difference anyway. :)

This doesn't surprise me. Walmart treats their employees like *censored*. My wife works for them, she has been for 15 years. She hates it. They treat her like property. My wife is unaffected by the insurance thing because she is on my insurance policy and my company doesn't screw people like that.

I dont know. It doesnt bother me that my heart surgeon charges what he does. He basically plays God and keeps me alive, I dont think a price can be put on that. When my twins were born early and blue and the NICU doctor intubated them and allowed them to be the 2 and a half year old maniacs they are today, I never thought twice about the price tag. You can't put a price on saving a life or improving the quality of ones life.

I dont want the heart doctor who got a D- in heart anatomy opening me up...

It comes down to business taking care of their own. I would work in a different field if I could get the same health benefits, but I cant. My heath insurance alone is worth going to work every day!

My sister is a Cardiologist in Alaska and she often tells me; "the best part of my job is; despite losing 70% of my patients, I still gets paid."

I told her that is a good gig, I doubt the US Navy would let me keep welding ships together if 70% of my welds failed.

I will give her credit though; if you see her, you are most likely in the tunnel, maybe not seeing the big bright light, but obviously in the tunnel. It is pretty scary because she talks like a California surfer even though she is from Maine. She would be, "Like Dude, I am going to put the paddles to you know, kay?"

Yes, very scary!

Because what other retailer is going to pay her $16+ an hour to do what she does? She's been there so long she's *censored* herself as she can't go anywhere else. She applied at several places, even went on a few interviews. They have openly laughed in her face when it comes to her pay. "You want how much? LOL The going rate is $9 an hour, you'll be lucky to get $10."

We struggle on her pay as it is. I couldn't imagine her taking a $6-8 paycut to get out of the Walmart penitentiary system. We'd lose our shack within a month.

Sounds like MA. Making $20/hour is poverty level around here.

It's poverty here in Jersey as well. That's why I live in a shack I can barely afford.

That is the problem and give them more benefits and the cost of products to us goes up and there is no incentive to improve yourself. Walmarts/McDs/gas pumpers etc should be a stepping stone to night school and moving up the ladder. Everybody hates working retail as I remember, I certainly did. Stay too long and you are captured and that is not Wallys fault. When I retired I studied hard at being a nobody. I got my degree and now am top of my profession. That is supposed to be an inspirational note to you youngsters - how am I doing?
