The most essential part of trolling is convincing your victim that either a) truly believe in what you are saying, no matter how outrageous, or b) give your victim malicious instructions, under the guise of help. Trolling requires decieving; any trolling that doesn't involve decieving someone isn't trolling at all. As such, your victim must not know that you are trolling; if he does, you are an unsuccesful troll.

Signs that your trolling is unsuccesful:
*Your victim identifying you as a troll.
*Identifying yourself as a troll.
*Your efforts being ignored.
*Being counter-trolled (See below)

Counter-trolling (Or reverse trolling) is an effective method of redeeming yourself after being trolled. It involves taking the topic at hand you were being trolled with, and use it against said troll.

I don;t fit this bill in my opinion...however I do find some others may!

You are blatantly and openly taunting me to take it to a higher level (including perhaps to the level of accepting a V-Chip, lest why would you insert that here), and you are not openly trolling? No way! Don't flatter yourself and hide behind trite 'canned' slogans of reverse trolling.

As for me, I adhere to the Libertarian non-aggression principle. Things like invasive communication eavesdropping violate the principle of non-aggression, as would a v-chip.

My issue with this, is that if you look at society today we are pulling away the triplicate powers that are supposed to be self-governing.

Judicial

The Executive branch is fighting with the Legislative, which is not new and not likely to change any time soon, but look closer at the Judicial Branch. Suddenly they are making broad based decisions that deeply impact this country. They were the deciding factor in George Bush being elected. They were the ones that allowed through an absurd ruling that a miniscule ICC interstate Commercing Clause could be used on Health care to impose a tax on individuals who elect not to have coverage. They are also imposing some strange decisions on religion and freedom of speech...not to mention the TSA thumbing their nose at Congress which is a Judicial entity in essence.

I realize this texting issue is at the very bottom of the pile, BUT it is on the Judicial side of things, and it is scary that we, as Americans, are slowly losing our control as citizens through the decision making of the Judicial branch. I dislike our President and did not vote for him, BUT what is scary to me is that he understands his work-around Congress, and his ultimate power, comes from the Supreme Court. What I see is an out of control Supreme Court right now and the last thing we should be doing, is giving up our rights to Free Speech to this area of government as soon it will filter upwards and be at their bidding.

I have not deceived you or convinced you into accepting a V-chip, so it can't be trolling! And vice versa! Rights always come along with responsibilities, and it’s the latter part of that truism that libertarians generally forget.
