Pure crap. I was going to make a comment in length, but instead, just go to the article and read the comments posted.

"Along the way, however, we’ve forgotten something important — namely, that economic justice and economic growth aren’t incompatible. America in the 1950s made the rich pay their fair share; it gave workers the power to bargain for decent wages and benefits; yet contrary to right-wing propaganda then and now, it prospered. And we can do that again."

That's when everything started moving out.

Krugman is the purest Keynesian economist in the USA today, and he won a Nobel Prize in economics for his theories from a bunch of like minded Keynsians. Some day the Keynesians will likely be tarred and feathered for their economic voodoo, but right now they are virtually the only game in town.

If you study economics, you are studying Keynesian economics. Therefore, it was the Keynesian and their economic theories who brought us straight into the 2008 economic collapse, and it is Keynesian who are trying to get us out of it. Go figure.

How can two economists who are 180 degrees opposed to each other both win the Nobel Prize in Economics? And why is Hayek ignored despite his brilliance?

Things must have been quite different back in about 1974 when Hayek won his prize. Now they give them to the likes of Krugman and Obama.

Probably out of fairness to both...Hayek may not be ignored via his economic theory, but may be for his political theory...

Ugh. I don't have time to debunk Krugman point by point when others more eloquent that I have already done so but suffice it to say that he is wrong as usual about everything as usual.

Ludwig von Mises should have won a Nobel prize in Economics, but (to my knowledge at least) did not.
