This was because the towns were conservative and would keep the kids in the 2 room school I went to and never modernize because they had no industry to tax, just ever increasingly aging homeowners. SO they lied to them to get them to build and expand with new gyms and tennis courts and hot lunches etc. Then they pulled the rug out. People all over your area on fixed incomes are getting killed by taxes they don't understand. All because the idiot locals didn't know what was best for them so they had to be tricked into the modern age. As a superintendent said to me in a dispute about parental rights,"People don't make good decisions so we have to make them for them." That kind of thinking is so arrogant and typical of the liberal superior magnanimous self righteous asshat that it makes my blood boil.
Some years later that same woman lost both of her children because of a bad decision. Who was to blame? They were taught there should not be consequences for decisions and it bit them. I bet she blames society somehow not herself.
