Bob Costas Comments from last week-gun control

As many know, last week the Kansas City Cheifs LB Javon Blecher took a gun, shot the mother of his 4 month old child to death, then drove to the stadium and thanked his coaches before putting the gun to his head and pulling the trigger as police arrived on scene.

Bob Costas came on National TV while doing a broadcast for an NFL game and said the following:

So this week the NFL saw another tragedy. Dallas Cowboys LB Jerry Brown was killed in a drunk driving accident early Saturday morning. Driving the vehicle was fellow teammate NT Josh Brent.

As I sit and watch football tonight, I wonder if Bobby Boy will come one and speak about the dangers of alcohol and vehicles? And call for the control of them?

Stats show us 40,000 people in the US die in car accidents every year. Approximately 40% of that 40,000 are alcohol related. Alcohol itself kills around 35,000 people a year...that is just the booze, not mixing in the cars, so total it kills about 75,000 people a year.

Firearms kill about 29,000 a year with 16,000 of those being self-inflicted.

It makes sense if the NFL is going to allow Costas to voice his opinions about guns, they should also then speak about the banning of cars and alcohol?

Guys like Costas who have a huge captive audience but no expertise in a given matter should stick to their job, in this case talking about sports.

Costas was speaking to the morons who re-elected our president. Only guns are bad - not cars, pills, knives, bats, rocks, ghetto wall bricks, etc ... because those aren't sensational enough for these minions.

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion but at least with a gun it would be faster than him beating her to death & he could take his own life, otherwise it's just another ex jock sitting in jail for life on the tax payer dime. Guns aren't the problem maybe it's just the times & the lack of morals & judgement, who knows but if you really want someone dead there are all kind of ways.

What is puzzling to me is how massive loss of life very rarely involves a firearm.

Oklahoma City? Car bomb. No guns.

9/11? Airplanes. No guns.

London City subway bombings? No guns.

Costas claming if there were no gun Blecher and his girlfriend would still be alive? Really? He wouldnt have beat her to death? Strangled her? Stabbed her? Then took his own life. Ask the Chris Beniot family if a gun is needed. He strangeled his wife and son to death, then hung himself with a piece of weight equipment.

The witch hunt needs to end. Anyone hell bent on destruction is going to find a way. Taking away our freedoms will only ensure that there is no one there to stop the wolf when he comes calling.

We didn't watch last nite, wife turned on the game and I said that I wouldn't watch it anymore intill they got rid of Costas. Thier loss we found something else to watch . The wife was also wondering if Costas would come out against drinking. Is that on thier agenda?
